The T3i addes tilt swivel lcd and off camera flash control. Not sure if that changes anything, but is probably worth noting. I should have mentioned the Rebel is my backup, I already have a 5d2.

If you are like me, then plan on getting a second one eventually. I have to have a minimum of two DSLR cameras at a time, which is why I got two Canon T2i (550D) cameras about a year ago. If it were me, I'd get the Canon T3i and save up for the next generation Rebel which supposedly would be the T5i.
#Canon eos rebel t3i compared to t2i mac
Look at the features as Mac had said and then decide what is best for you. Some claim one is better than the other (that is, the IQ), but it appears to be minor differences. Between the Canon T2i, T3i, or T4i the IQ is nearly the same. I have the T4i and the 60d, and like them both. T2i, T3i, T4i, 60d, 7d all essentially have the same IQ I know I still have mine, but never use it. (sorry if this topic has been beaten into the ground, but I did my best to warn you in the thread title) RAW)? Is there any compelling reason to pay the extra $90 for the T3i or an extra $200 for the T4i that I'm not considering? I see that there are a lot of extra features added to the T3i and T4i, but I'm wondering from the sensor IQ level if there's any advantage to the T4i over the T2i (i.e. There are four rebel models available (T2i, T3, T3i, T4i), but I'd be interested in an 18MP sensor to give myself extra reach. I can either repair it ($200+) or get a new (to me) refurbished model from the CLP. It had been relegated to back-up status, but I found that I could take it with me everywhere I went so I it ended up seeing lots of use (too much, even, which is probably what did it in, finally). My 7 year old Rebel XT (350D) is finally dead.
